Built in 1893, the Cuban Cigar Factory is the remaining structure of an ambitious suburban manufacturing site built two miles from the center of Thomasville, named La Cubana City. The 40 by 150-foot three-story factory is a historic treasure. The Pines & Palms studios are located on the second floor where the cigars were made. At its peak, 100 workers from Cuba manufactured thousands of cigars made from Cuban tobacco which were in high demand across America.
The building is one of several buildings that house mental health programs for teens and their families on the beautiful Vashti Campus. To learn more about Vashti services go to Vashti.org.
