No one can better show you how to find beautiful locations and paint landscapes around the plantation trace area better than Joe Palmerio. He has painted this area every year for the last ten years. Joe loves to explain why he prepares his canvas in a certain way and give you tips like warming the shadows, using a pallet knife to draw thin details like ropes, and how he can capture the light when the sun and clouds are always moving. In his morning demos you can watch how he structures the layout and how he mixes so many green colors, something Plein Air artists needs and more. The class will start with a meet-and-greet at a barbecue at a private home at 6:00 pm Friday, May 14. The next day the class will meet at a rural location at 9:00 AM and end at 4:30. On Sunday the class will start at a country road at 10:30 AM and last until the summer’s golden hours, 6 to 8 PM. Bug spray of course! Oil and acrylic painters are his target audience but any painter who wants to have a fun outing with other artists are welcome from a sketcher to any other medium user.
