The class will consist of a paint-along, a demo, and an afternoon painting with guidance. we will explore distilling the outdoor landscape into a pleasing composition, deciphering values, and color temperatures, modeling the form, and edges, and dealing with depth and atmosphere. We will learn how to use pastels correctly to achieve pleasing strokes and create beautiful and harmonious colors. We will also learn how to successfully depict light and shadow areas, and achieve luminosity in our paintings.
