This 5-day Plein Air Paint Out will be an artist's oasis of cotton fields, pine forest, ponds, moss-covered oaks, and the historic streets of downtown Thomasville.
Our award-winning artists Mary O. Smith, Steven Walker, Orit Reuben, Phil Sandusky, Craig Reynolds and Paul Ladnier will be our hosts!
This is a great opportunity to learn from these exceptional artists, enjoy access to beautiful locations, and make new friends!

Plein Air Painting & Welcome Dinner at Hacienda Hamilton:
573 Egg and Butter Rd No. Ochlocknee, GA
Coffee/Tea at 8:00am for early risers
Artists are welcome to stay as long as they want (sun sets at 7:19pm)
There is a bathroom in the cabin
Snacks and beverages available all day in the cabin.
Artist Welcome Dinner 4pm - 7pm

Impromptu Sales during event:
If someone wants to buy your painting off your easel you can sell it; just remember to give us our 35% non member or 30% member commission.
Open to all artists 18 years of age or older.
Quick Draw: All artists are to check in at the registration table/gazebo between 8:15 and 9:00am.
Competition: 9:00 - 11:00
Up to two painting surfaces may be stamped. Surfaces may be toned but will not have any line or image on the surface at time of registration.
Acceptable mediums are watercolor, oil, pastels, acrylic, pencil, Ink, mixed media. Only 2-dimension works will be accepted. No photography or digital work will be accepted. Maximum size 11”x14” or 154 square inches. No minimum size. Frames are optional but will help with appearance for judging and with the sale of the work.
Report Back: You will have until 11:15 to return to the registration tent and check in. You will be given a tag for up to two paintings/drawings, which you must fill out and affix to each. Paintings will be checked for original stamp.
Judging: Paintings will be judged between 11:15 and 11:30. Winners will be announced at the registration gazebo. Awards will be presented for first, second, and third places.
What to Bring: In addition to your Plein Air box you may wish to bring a small shade umbrella, Camp stool or small folding chair, Folding floor easel or comparable, Cooling rag, Frame and mounting hardware
Restrooms and Parking: There are restrooms and plenty of parking at the park.
Sale of work: We encourage you to price your work for sale.
Release of Liability and Permission to Advertise:
All entries are displayed at artist’s risk. Pines & Palms will not be responsible for theft or damage to frames /paintings/ equipment.
Submission of works for judging and sales constitutes an agreement by the artists to the provisions within this prospectus.
Artists participating in this event grant permission for Pines & Palms, sponsors, and news media to use their name and images for the purpose of advertisement in this and future show events.
