This is a 4-day workshop taught by artist and author of Fishing for Elephants, Insights and exercises to inspire authentic creativity. In the classes Larry explains the components of creativity, the visual language of paint, non-traditional expression, composition, the nature of good design and the necessity of concept. Larry has taught and written extensively on different ways to think, how to explore new territory, build, refine and define your unique voice. Emphasis is on building trust in your decision process, thoughtful exploration, freedom of expression toward a deeper level of painting and visual communication. All mediums/levels are welcome. Some experience in painting is helpful. It’s good to have some understanding of the mechanics of paint and to know how to mix color. However, the class is not strictly limited to painting, there are many ways for an artist to express an idea. The first part of the class will focus on idea generation in gouache, an easy to use and amazingly versatile water medium, the attendees will have to option to work in their medium of choice in the second half of the class.
Larry says, ‘If you are not enjoying the class and learning useful things, what’s the point? We will, of course, follow all Covid guidelines for face protection and social distancing. And we will have fun.” To see more of Mr. Moore’s work please go to www.larrymoorestudios.com
