Learn from the masters! Join us on Sunday, October 9, for unique educational experiences. This series caters to professional and emerging artists alike and focuses on artistic development and nurturing the participants’ existing practices. Whether you attend one of the demonstrations or get hands on with a workshop, all artists will come away inspired.
Joe will cover basic compositions, the basics of placement of buildings as a focal point in your painting, cover basic perspective to provide you with a good refresher in how to make a composition work then give a short painting demo. Joe can cover a lot of canvas in 45 minutes, thus leaving you plenty of time to get a good start on a painting.
This workshop is for watercolor artists that need to add a little more skill set to their bag of tricks for painting on location or in the studio. Mary has noticed a real need for watercolor artists to practice color mixing and layering techniques. She was fortunate to have had great watercolor teachers and I want to share those gifts to others. Fun for all levels. Indoors, no rain or sweat!
In this workshop, Orit will show students how to simplify the plein air painting process in pastel. You will learn how to decipher the landscape scene in front of you into a simplified composition. The workshop will focus on understanding the pastel medium, along with values, color temperature and the principles of landscape painting.
Craig has sold paintings and won awards that he created with devices that will make you chuckle. He does this to remove paint as well as apply it. Craig’s demo will show you how it is done in water soluble oil paint.
Phil will do a plein air painting demonstration showing a succinct, simplified statement of architecture.
In this painting demonstration, Paul will show the students through planning, preparation, organization and logical processes, how to achieve better paintings in a timely manner.
